2024 celebrates the 110th anniversary of the start of the Great War. To commemorate the Armistice of November 11, 1918, the Heritage Department is organizing an event around the resupply of the troops on the Front. Between 1914 and 1918, more than eight million soldiers were mobilized. Closer to the fighting, the meal remains, as best it can, a daily ritual. First banned, wine remains the soldier's main support. An exhibition on “Pinard des Poilus”, produced by the Château du Clos de Vougeot (Burgundy), accompanied by a contextualization around the Great War in the Lot, from the exhibition produced in 2014 by ASPEC 14-18 , will be presented at the Chapter Attic. Guided tours of the two exhibitions are offered on Saturday 9, Sunday 10 and Monday 11 November at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. These visits are free, without registration. A cycle of free conferences will accompany these exhibitions: Overview of military stewardship between 1914 and 1918, Charlotte Leroy and Enzo Delpech will present on Saturday November 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Henri Martin room, an overview of military stewardship between 1914-1918. A veritable armada of kitchens and bakeries on wheels then accompanied the men to the Front. And The army health service during the Great War, on Monday November 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Henri-Martin room, Emmanuel Carrère will discuss the army health service during the Great War, responsible for ensuring the health monitoring and helping the wounded on both sides. The terrible carnage of the Great War nevertheless enabled considerable progress in the field of health.
