The state of natural disaster is officially recognized for nearly 400 municipalities after flooding in ten departments in mid-October, mainly over the period from October 16 to 20, after the passage of the Kirk depression. The decree was published Tuesday, November 5 in the Official Journal. Among these municipalities, there are 46 in Yvelines and 16 in Essonne.
Last October, on the night of October 17 to 18, a large part of Île-de-France found itself underwater. The equivalent of two weeks of rain fell in Paris in just one hour in the evening.. The municipalities south of Yvelines had been strongly affected, particularly around Rambouillet, Ablis and Chatou. In Essonne, firefighters intervened a hundred times, roads were closed and houses flooded.
The state of natural disaster makes it possible to facilitate compensation procedures from insurance companies in particular.
