The mandate of the municipal youth council (CMJ) is coming to an end, in Thouaré-sur-Loire (Loire-Atlantique). In order to thank the young elected officials for their civic investment, within this participatory body, an outing to Paris was organized by the City.
Leaving early by train on Monday October 16, the young people had the chance to visit the Senate, located at the Luxembourg Palace. Another discovery, with the conciergerie, one of the oldest vestiges of the Palais de la Cité, residence and seat of power of the kings of France, in the Middle Ages.

Food collections, intergenerational meetings and participatory budget projects saw young people get involved during their 2022-2024 mandate. It was important to thank them for this civic commitment. Our visit to Paris also allowed them to discover the Senate and behind the scenes of the government,”

A new mandate for 33 new elected officials
The elections for the new municipal youth council will take place in schools on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 November. After a presentation of this body to CM 1 and CM 2, the student volunteers wrote their profession of faith and campaigned with their classmates. Middle school students of 6 e et 5 e can also submit their application, by completing the form accessible on thouare.fr.
