Two thirty-year-olds d’Héric and of Coueron (-Atlantique) were condemned Monday October 28, 2024 at closed prison speak tribunal correctional for a series of 70 burglaries clerk from December 2023 to July 2024 in Couëron, BlainSaint-Étienne-de-Montluc (Loire-Atlantique) and Sables-d'Olonne (Vendée). Loire-Atlantique: victims of burglaries angry

The municipality of Coueron had concentrated most of the burglaries alone. “This is the fifth time since 2012 that my property has been visited by thugs,” complained one of the many civil parties who had come to the hearing.

The defendants were not not unknown to justice. One, a resident d’Héric 33 years old, has already been sentenced 11 times by justice. This father of three children is addicted to alcohol and cocaine since his separation from his wife and the loss of his job. At unemployment since the loss of his driving licensehe explains having gone through “a difficult period of [sa] vie ».

His co-defendant, a man Coueron 29 years old, is also unemployment and has struggled to find a job since he lost your driving license. On the criminal level, this father of a 3-year-old child was convicted 12 times in the past, including nine times for theft cases.

For these 70 burglaries, the two defendants theoretically incurred up to 20 years of imprisonment. The lawyer for the first defendant, however, emphasized that his client and his accomplice ensured the absence of the owners before committing their misdeeds, that they “recognize” their responsibilities and that they “apologized”.

Two years in prison for the duo

“Prison creates a recidivism. I am not sure that such a significant sentence is the best solution, otherwise there is no more hope,” argued Mr. Loïc Cabioch.

The Nantes criminal court finally sentenced the Héric defendant to two years in prisonwith continued detention following the hearing. His accomplice received the same sentence. Four months in prison, which had initially been suspended by the same court in January 2023, were also revoked at the same time. They will also have to compensate the civil parties.

When they leave prison, the two men will also be under the influence one year in prison with suspended probation: this will force them to actively look for work for two years and will prohibit them from resuming contact with each other.
