Like every year, before secondary residents return to their main home, the mayor of Saint-Agnant-près-Crocq (Creuse) chaired a municipal gathering to inform citizens of municipal news and to exchange with them live.

On October 26, more than 60 people responded to the invitation from the mayor of Saint-Agnant-près-Crocq (Creuse). Jean-Paul Welzer addressed essential subjects “in a generally unfavorable context when national budgetary debates want to impact already constrained local finances. Furthermore, in addition to the State's drain on municipalities, there is the reduction of subsidies and their random and elastic allocation, in contradiction with the directives requiring, among other things, energy renovation work. Efforts seem one-sided.”

The mayor also recalled the difficulties of managing a community of municipalities in distress, with a provisional executive, detrimental to a territorial development strategy, without positive impacts and with financial difficulties.

At the municipal level, three important points were discussed

Road maintenance. This is penalized by the sick leave of the technical agent and the elimination of state subsidies, but the mayor notes “that the urban network of the metropolises is not better off” and welcomes the pooling of resources with the commune of Flayat.

The restoration of the church. It is in progress, with a first section completed and the consolidation of the vault completed. The second phase concerns the nave and the entrance paving, but surprises appeared: vestiges of bas-reliefs and old paintings were discovered, which, according to the architect of Bâtiments de , should be restored and keep, without providing financial solutions to the additional expenses that it requires to be incurred. The installation of gutters to prevent infiltration seems urgent.
A stone's throw from the church, the Léger house has also been the subject of rehabilitation work and the remarkable bread oven of this old bakery has been restored and made functional: it can be used as part of events from the next spring; the apartment will also be put back for rental.

The development of photovoltaics. This is a sensitive subject in particular because of an agrovoltaic project defended by a company in partnership with a farmer and also a subject for the future with a project to install photovoltaic panels on municipal real estate.
