The prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne confirmed, Saturday November 2, the launch of a call for expressions of interest (AMI), in the department, for the labeling of agricultural areas of climate resilience (AARC).
An announcement which follows the speech ofAnnie GenevardMinister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, in last October. Ce Saturday November 2the prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne Vincent Roberti informed the farmers of launch of a call for expression of interest (AMI) regarding the labeling of agricultural areas for climate resilience (AARC).
Several criteria to respect
Producer organizations or even agricultural cooperativesto be eligible to obtain the AARC label, various criteria must be respected. Here they are:
- a territorial logicby anchoring production in a territory and producing in a basin to meet market demand
- a logic of the sector and product valorizationto extract maximum added value from production
- a logic of diversification and change of practices in agricultural production systemsso that agricultural activity generates income and to combat production and market volatility increased by climate change
No financial support
During his speech, the Tarn-et-Garonnais prefect indicated that this AMI is part of the plan “agriculture climate Mediterranean“, which concerns 18 departments in the south of France.
He also made it clear that farmers who obtain this label will not have no financial support. But, this will allow them to “apply for various calls for projects“, with a planned envelope of 50 million euros.

Agricultural professionals who wish to respond to the AMI can submit their file on the platform of the Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DRAAF) Occitanie, specially designed for this purpose, and accessible online.
