Jack O'Lantern, once dead, after a life of debauchery, is forced to go to hell, Satan refuses to open the door to him. So, while awaiting his final judgment, he wanders in the dark night. Satan gives him a piece of burning coal for light. And to avoid burning his fingers, Jack digs a turnip and puts the glowing piece in it. This Irish legend crossed the ocean with the settlers who left for the Americas. But to perpetuate it, no turnips, so they fell back on a vegetable widely cultivated in Mexico, the pumpkin. This weekend, it seems that Jack O'Lantern has taken on the features of Yannick Villatoro in order to organize the competition for the largest Sindaroise pumpkin and therefore to perpetuate this frightening tradition. Ghosts, witches, vampires, they were all there, in the torture room of Sindères, playing, scaring each other, but also giggling, drinking toad juice and eating horrible sweets. On the podium of the Largest Pumpkin Competition: -Orfila Henri with 180,300 kg -Orfila Noé with 95,100 kg -Orfila Noé with 93,600 kg Note the good ranking of Sindérois Hélène Ducout with a pumpkin weighing 50,100 kg. A big thank you to all participants, organizers and benefactors. Don't forget to request your seeds in February for the 2025 competition. Horror, misfortune! No pumpkins will be thrown away. The ghosts living in school kitchens will take great pleasure in feeding them to the school imps.
