For the second year in a row, the attractiveness agency Attitude Manche organized this week, at the Saint-Lô stud farm (Manche), a trade fair for Manche drinks in order to make known to restaurateurs, cafe owners, campsite managers and guest houses in the department, the productions of the territory and encourage them to put them on their menu.

La Manche has “nearly 70 beverage producers”. Among the new additions, the Pod'Jo company which opened a month ago in Saint-Lô to produce its kombucha.

To consume at any time of the day

“It is a non-alcoholic drink made from sencha green tea and Assam black tea, without preservatives, 100% natural and organic,” explain Jocelyn Jourdainne and Pauline Delgado. Originally from Asia, it is very popular in Australia and New Zealand. »

The couple discovered it in these distant territories while working there for four years. “During confinement, we started making our kombucha. »

On their return to , they refined their recipe, in particular their symbiotic culture, “the equivalent of sourdough for bread”, which through natural fermentation produces a finely sparkling fresh drink with very little sugar. “It is rich in microbiota but above all it is delicious. » It is consumed in the morning “to revive the digestive system”, after a meal “to help digestion” and at any time of the day. “It’s a healthy alternative to soda and alcohol », recommends Jocelyn Jourdainne.

Four flavors

The founders of the Pod'Jo brand began production in Litteau, in , in 2021. They are now based in workshop 21 in Saint-Lô Agglo. “We needed space and a suitable location. We found favorable ground at the Pôle Agglo and this department promotes local drinks, like this show organized by Attitude Manche. We are happy to have arrived in Saint-Lô. »

Four flavors are offered : ginger and lemon by adding a homemade juice to the preparation and hibiscus and mint by infusion. “We are preparing new flavors, particularly lemon verbena. »

The beverage is sold in 25 cl, 50 cl and one liter glass bottles. “We have a zero waste objective. We make moral instructions (Editor's note: without monetary compensation), customers bring the bottles back to the point of sale. » The couple sells their drink on the markets of and Saint-Lô. It is also found in organic grocery stores in the region.
