His name is now known. Saturday November 2, the National Rally officially presented, during a press conference in Thin-le-Moutier, its candidate for the partial legislative election in the 1st constituency of the Ardennes. And the watchword remains youth since Jordan Duflot, 27 years old, will try to succeed Flavien Termet, 22 years oldwho, three months after his election, announced his resignation for health reasons.
“The objective is to maintain an RN deputy in the Ardennes”
Jordan Duflot is a purebred Ardennese. He was born, raised in the department and works there as a manager in a social structure. “At the same time, I have been a member of the RN for more than three years”he specifies. The young candidate always felt close to the far-right party but it was ultimately the yellow vest crisis that pushed him to become politically involved. “I told myself at that moment that I had to make myself useful with concrete action, action on the ground.”
Jordan Duflot then gradually rose through the ranks within the National Rally. First adherent, then substitute for Isabelle Roger during the legislative elections last June in the 3rd constituency of the Ardennes, and now, candidate for deputy. “For me it is the continuity of my commitment. The objective is to maintain an RN deputy in the Ardennes and to continue the work of my predecessor.” But the election is far from being won in advance. During the early elections last July, Flavien Termet beat Renaissance candidate Lionel Vuibert with “only” 52.99% of the votes. However, Lionel Vuibert, who was already a deputy before the dissolution of the Assembly, announced that he would also present himself in the legislative by-election in the 1st constituency of the Ardennes.
Candidates will be able to officially submit their candidacy to the prefecture from Monday November 4 before a vote scheduled for December 1 and 8.
