Labeled a remarkable heritage site, the town of Albas takes particular care to safeguard its architectural heritage and its habitat. Former residence of the bishops of Cahors, this village of 540 inhabitants is increasing its efforts to promote all private or public initiatives aimed at restoring the heart of the village.
However, for years, no solution has been found on either side for a home. It was a house of character, bourgeois, and which in its time had also been a restaurant. Left without repairs for a long time, it gradually fell into sad disrepair. In recent days, the mayor, Jean-Pierre Alaux, had to sign a danger order concerning this property located at the convergence of two departmental roads: the D8 and the D37. Indeed, part of the roof threatens to collapse and the structural elements of this residence, fortunately uninhabited, display disorders which led the expert mandated by the administrative court of Toulouse to order the “imminent endangerment ” of this good. The architect of Bâtiments de France, the departmental council, the prefecture and the Lot gendarmerie were informed of this decree taken urgently by the mayor. The owner is ordered to carry out the work within six months. Failing this, demolition cannot be ruled out in order to prevent any danger.
