During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 12:30 a.m., emergency police were contacted by a man indicating that his friend had just called him to tell him that he had done something “stupid” by killing his ex-partner. The events took place on a barge moored in the town of Louveciennes (Yvelines).
When the police arrived on site, the perpetrator presented himself to them. The man, aged 53, then specified that during an argument, which broke out two hours earlier in the evening, he strangled his former partner after striking her. The latter then decided to throw the victim's body overboard, directly into the Seine.
The investigators noticed that the victim's car was parked in front of the pier. The author, who appears to be drunk, is arrested and placed in police custody.
Two river teams of firefighters and police were then mobilized to carry out searches in the river. Around 3:20 a.m., the divers finally found the victim's lifeless body, which remained submerged near the bow of the boat. She was 54 years old and lived in the neighboring town of Port-Marly (Yvelines).
According to the Nous Tous association, this could be the 112th feminicide of the year in France.
