Since the start of the season, the Flers football club (Orne) has a new eleven team in U16 women's. Last year, the group played as an eight-piece. The Fléris leaders decided to move at the upper level.
“We had a good group in U13 last season,” explains Baptiste Vaubaillon, section supervisor. ” There is a double objective : discover the big field for them, and gain experience for the club, in the long term. »
A long-term project
Indeed, because it is in the long term that the Ornais club wishes develop women's football. “The idea is to help them progress,” says the Fléris leader. “The majority of players are still in the U14 category, so they have two years ahead of them. »
A promising generation which must strengthen the seniors in the future: “we have a good promotion, also among the U11s. It’s a really interesting long-term project. »
At eleven, “everything is increased tenfold”
Since the start of the championship, the Flériens have conceded a defeat and a draw, but they went for great victories in the preparation matches. “At our level, it’s 100% of training. She discovers a different environment,” explains Baptiste Vaubaillon.
What are the differences between 8-a-side and 11-a-side football? “ Everything is tenfold. The field is bigger, the number of players is greater, the system, the playing time, the efforts change…”
A dynamic within the club
So many new parameters to manage for sportswomen. “They are motivated by the idea of discovering 11-a-side football, real football », smiles the supervisor, accompanied in his mission by Flora who is present during training and takes care of the team of 8 at the weekend.
The group is involved with around thirty players present at training, twice a week. A dynamic which is also found among the seniors, where an 8-a-side team has appeared.
“The players were already active, but without necessarily playing in a championship. Today, they want to put themselves into practice. »
