This evening of November 2, 2024, around 5:45 p.m., a major pileup occurred on the A31 motorway in the direction of Metz (Moselle) near Moulins-lès-Metz, 300 meters from the exit leading to the center commercial Waves Actisud.
The latest report shows five light vehicles involved. According to information from France 3 Lorraine, a 53-year-old man has died, two people are in absolute emergency and five in relative emergency.
The standardized digital information system (SINUS), which allows the census and monitoring of victims, has been triggered. The victims are being conditioned before being evacuated.
Three doctors and 42 firefighters from the Metz, Peltre, Montigny, Florange, Boulay and Thionville barracks were mobilized to the scene of the accident. Significant slowdowns are noted in the pileup.
