Saturday morning, October 26, at the Landes Departmental Committee in Rion, the federal representatives of the department for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine League made a first update on the start of the season, under the leadership of Bernard Serres, responsible for the Roquefort sector, and Christian Le Rest, responsible for the Aquitaine League and member of the Copil (steering committee) at the French Rugby Federation (FFR).

The first highlighted with satisfaction the assiduity shown by the match officials for the numerous work meetings. Likewise, he appreciated their availability to carry out their mission every weekend. “This is especially true since, this season, we have even more matches to cover with Regional 3 which is now our responsibility. »

Strict guidelines

But he also pointed out and asked for “more severity and even no tolerance against people who, on the sidelines, do not respect their obligations during Youth meetings. We still observed some unacceptable excesses during certain U19 matches.”

Finally, Philippe Brazeilles (Stade Montois) responsible for training, helped by Jean-François Dubos (), strongly reminded “the instructions relating to the replacement of players and the very strict directives for the management of the sidelines”. So many comments corroborated by Christian Le Rest “so that the meetings take place as well as possible and with complete peace of mind”.

This studious morning ended with a welcome lunch, during which everyone was able to enjoy a succulent meal prepared by the strong team of volunteers from the local Rion Morcenx Club Rugby club.
