The Savoyard resort intends to use this double event as a springboard to make an impression, hoping to attract visitors all year round. It claims to be a land of cycling, a precursor of mountain biking.

“We have a cycling culture”says the president of the Grande Plagne Tourist Office, Pierre Gonthier. “If we remember the experience we had 23 years ago, the last climb remains a legendary site. We will be the last mountain stage before the arrival of the Tour de France.”

The highly anticipated stage finish of the Tour de France will take place in La Plagne Villages, where thousands of spectators will be able to see the riders give their last pedal strokes in more than 2 000 meters above sea level during the last great battle of the Alps.
