26 speeding violations punished and 4 licenses withdrawn during the All Saints' Day weekend in Landes

On the occasion of the All Saints' Day long weekend, control operations were carried out by the Landes gendarmerie, in the presence of Cyrille Lefeuvre, chief of staff of the Landes prefect.

On the occasion of the All Saints' Day long weekend, the Landes gendarmerie intensified its road checks to ensure the safety of users on departmental roads. Under the supervision of Cyrille Lefeuvre, chief of staff of the prefect of Landes, these control operations made it possible to identify several serious offenses in just a few hours.

The authorities report having observed 26 speeding incidents, some of which reached speeds of 32 km/h above the authorized limit. Faced with the seriousness of the offenses, four drivers had their driving licenses immediately withdrawn.

A year marked by high road mortality

The year 2024 will see a worrying increase in mortality on the roads of the Landes department, pushing local authorities to redouble their efforts to raise awareness and control drivers. With increasing statistics, these operations aim not only to crack down on dangerous behavior, but also to remind everyone of the importance of respecting the Highway Code.

Be extra vigilant as winter approaches

As winter approaches, authorities are appealing for caution. The days are getting shorter, and the drop in light increases the risks on the roads. Motorists are therefore invited to anticipate their journeys, to ensure that their equipment (in particular lights and tires) is in good condition, and to adapt their speed according to visibility and weather conditions.

These control actions aim to make drivers responsible and reduce dangerous behavior. To all road users, remain vigilant and obey traffic rules to ensure your safety and that of others.
