On the afternoon of Friday, November 1, an 18-year-old young man was shot dead in Valencia (Drôme), Agence France Presse learned from local firefighters. The events took place in the Polygone district, close to the city center.
The emergency services indicated that this individual was “seriously injured by gunfire on a public highway, he was in cardiac arrest when help arrived” and was declared dead shortly after. According to a police source, he was known to the judicial services and could have been the victim of a settling of scores.
The death could be linked, according to another police source, to a shooting that occurred the previous night in front of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), west of Valence. This left three people injured by bullets, including a 22-year-old young man who was seriously injured in the head, and is believed to be linked to drug trafficking.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter) Friday evening, the Drôme prefecture announced the arrival of the “CRS 83”, during the night from Friday to Saturdaywith the aim of “securing the city with the desire not to let violence take hold in the districts of Valencia”.
