The UBB will try to pull off a coup this Saturday afternoon in Clermont. Union Bordeaux-Bègles travels to Auvergne to challenge ASM on the 9th day of Top 14. Second in the championship, she hopes to once again play a trick on her former manager Christophe Urios at the Marcel Michelin stadium from 2:30 p.m.
Over these last six trips to Clermont, UBB has only lost once. But, for the first time this season, she will have to do without some of her internationals selected for the fall tour of the XV of France (Jalibert, Penaud and Louis Bielle-Biarrey). Moefana and Vergnes-Taillefer are suspended.
Despite everything, the Union will offer a more than solid team at kick-off with nine changes compared to the last victory against Pau (19-6). The Bordeaux staff decided to line up their four internationals returning from Marcoussis in the middle of the week. Lucu and Buros will start at scrum and back while Lamothe and Gazotti will start on the bench. The cage will be made up of a brand new first line (Poirot-Sa-Sadie) with the usual Gray-Cazeaux team behind them. Note in the third line, the return from suspension of Swinton who will accompany Matiu and Tatafu.
Carbery back at the right time
Behind, it's time for Joey Carbery's big comeback. Injured since the trip to Lyon, the Irish international fly-half returns at the right time to take over from Matthieu Jalibert. This will be his second start of the season. He will rely on Van Rensburg and Uberti in the center and on Reybier and Retiere on the wings. Finally, as often this season, the bench will be made up of seven forwards and two three-quarters.
