On Thursday evening, shots targeted a kebab restaurant in the Couronneries district of Poitiers, causing several injuries, at least five, including a 15-year-old boy who was brain dead. Among the other injured, there are two players from the football team of the neighboring town of Buxerolles. These young U17s were eating when they were shot: in the arm for one, in the ear and foot for the other.
The two young people were hospitalized at the Poitiers University Hospital, they were to play a friendly match this Saturday morning, the club is simply in shock, as explained Anthony Bouchard, club president : “I still can't believe it happened to us, and that young footballers from the club were among the victims. It happened a few hundred meters from our club, from our football fields.” The president has difficulty hiding his emotion: “these are two young players who are trouble-free, worry-free, well-mannered and polite, and respectful, they found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
