All good things come to an end. The immersive show, which immerses the spectator in the world of Beauty and the Beastreturns once again to the Château de Maisons-Laffitte (), from Saturday November 9 to Sunday December 15 2024. But it will be the very last time as far as he is concerned.

For the third consecutive year, the adaptation of this universal tale will punctuate the life of the town, its castle and its inhabitants, for a month, just before the Christmas holidays.

Proposed by the company Polaris production, the show will not be able to take place in 2025. During this period, the castle will host a big exposure in connection with the Palace of on the Count of Artois.

A new show is coming in 2026

But the production does not intend to let go of the jewel of Mansonian heritage. She announces that a new show is in preparation. “We are going to come back in 2026, because in any case we have a contract with the Center des monuments nationaux for a few more years,” indicates Julie Claret-Gelugne, general director of Polaris. At the moment, little information can be released by production.

“It will surely be a new show, always immersive, always involving volunteers. Something around Christmas, we hope. »

An enchanted journey through the castle

In the meantime, there is still a little more than a month to see Beauty and the Beast parade in the Château de Maisons-Laffitte. The formula remains the same. “We do always better from one year to the next, but these are small adjustments that the public does not necessarily see,” explains Julie Claret-Gelugne.

Approximately one hour long, the show immerses visitors in a truly enchanted journey, without ever retracing their steps. In groups of around thirty people, the spectator wanders through the castle and watches one scene per room.

A hundred characters in costume

In total, around a hundred characters in costume are to be discovered. From arriving through the large tunnel to the large fir forest, in the kitchens, facing the magic cupboard, during the metamorphosis and until the final waltz.

Once again, this year, nearly 450 volunteers are participating in the show. The professional team is the same, still led by the director Charles Mollet. “There is a very good atmosphere. Many volunteers redo the same scene, because their pleasure is to play again with friends from the previous year,” appreciates the production director.

“It’s a meeting place that has established itself in the city and surrounding areas. We find a lot of familiar faces, it creates a bond with the production teams and volunteers. Some have done all three editions. A quarter are new volunteers. »

19 dates and 1,500 departures in one month

Several sessions per day are offered, spread over a total of 19 dates. The first two weeks (starting November 9) the show will be performed on weekends only, then Wednesday through Friday and weekends until December 15.

As always, departures take place every thirty minutesthe representations rotating continuously. “We are not moving in terms of the number of slots. We have 1,500 departures in total,” explains Julie.

“What makes us very proud is that people come from further and further away to see the show. What was very local during the 1st edition has expanded. There is a lot of word of mouth. Demand is even greater than last year, which was already higher than the previous year. We already have 10,000 reservations. »
