The Tonkin district of Villeurbanne, in the metropolis of Lyon, heavily affected by drug trafficking, was hit once again by violence on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1.
And man was found dead in the street at the height of Boulevard du 11-Novembre-1918 in the Tonkin district, between this sector of Villeurbanne and the Doua campus.
Shot in the face
The victim died after being shot in the face, we learned news Lyonconfirming information from Progress.
The deceased person has not been identified at this stage and the circumstances of the tragedy are unknown.
An investigation was opened for intentional homicide and entrusted to the DCOS (organized and specialized crime division). No arrests have been made at this stage.
The Tonkin district affected by traffic
The Tonkin district has been affected for years by drug trafficking and score-settling.
The city's mayor (PS) Cédric Van Styvendel has been calling for additional police resources for months. The State has deployed police reinforcements on site and the former Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin had promised a dedicated brigade which has not yet arrived.
