He passed in force at the toll gates of the A9 motorway, among other numerous crimes: this Monday, October 28, 2024, the Béziers criminal court sentenced a 45-year-old delinquent domiciled in Aude to three years of imprisonment accompanied by a committal warrant, for acts of theft, fuel embezzlement and driving on the highway while evading payment of the toll. He was arrested on July 15, 2024 by police officers from the anti-crime brigade -Bac- of the police station ofAgde, while he was committing a fuel pipeline to the detriment of a hypermarket by filling cans with a total capacity of 100 liters hidden in the trunk of his vehicle,” revealed this Thursday, October 31, 2024, Raphaël Balland, the public prosecutor of Béziers.
The numerous cross-checks carried out by investigators from the Agde police station made it possible to accuse him of 21 similar acts committed since May 2023 in theHérault Aude and the Pyrénées Orientales, as well as numerous other thefts committed in supermarkets and motorway stations. He was also accused of having forced barriers at motorway toll booths on 27 occasions, which were pulverized. The total damage was estimated at more than 6,400 euros by Vinci Autoroutes.
During his custody, he admitted much of the facts, explaining that he resold the gasoline cans and that he stole out of necessity. Having appealed his conviction, this Monday, he will be retried by the Montpellier Court of Appeal.
