Last weekend, volunteers from the Rodelle cultural association, under the leadership of co-presidents Yannick Andrieu and Christian Triadou, took part in their annual outing.
This year, it was a visit to the Museum of Bagpipes of the World in Vines in North Aveyron. An outdoor meal with the sun was shared by the group in front of the cinema library where a series of documentary films, from the CNRS, on the rural activities of Aubrac before mechanization allowed the group to discover various activities of this era like the cheese factory in the burons, the Lacalm and Laguiole fairs, the folk dances…
The visit to the museum was the highlight of this friendly day.
The welcoming host Jean-Louis Claveyrolles, an outstanding, passionate musician, a living encyclopedia of this specific heritage that is the bagpipe, ancestor of our cabrette, took visitors on a journey through time and space. With its rare collections and its magnificent museography, this museum is truly worth discovering or rediscovering.
The association notably announces end-of-year activities in the small village of Fijaguet de Rodelle with its traditional chestnut roast and Nadalet (Christmas in Occitan) or Christmas calends followed by mulled wine.
