Bernard Hinault will also celebrate his birthday next July. The greatest Breton champion of all time, who will celebrate his 70th birthday on November 14, will be honored on Friday July 11, during the only 100% Breton stage of the 2025 Tour de France.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Breton's fifth and last victory on the roads of the Grande Boucle (in 1985), the organizers of the biggest race in the world had pulled out all the stops in the ranks. The 7th stage of the Tour de France, which will leave Saint-Malo to arrive in Mûr-de-Bretagne, will cross Yffiniac and Calorguen, the two towns so dear to the heart of Breton. It was in Yffiniac, at a place called Le Fraîche, that Bernard Hinault was born on November 14, 1954, and it is in Calorguen, on the outskirts of Dinan, that the five-time winner of the Tour de France resides today. During the 2008 Tour de France, the Tour de France had already made a detour through Yffiniac and it was Martine Hinault, the wife of the champion and mayor of the town, who hosted the event.
