Only two hotel establishments owned four stars in the Cotentin. From now on, since October 10, 2024l’hotel “Le Grand Hard” of domaine d’Utah Beach in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (Manche), comes from join this private club.
For Elsa and Nicolas Onfroy, it is a great satisfaction but above all recognition of the work accomplished Since the purchase of the domain in April 2019.
An idea from customers
The couple then made the choice to working with local products of quality for the restaurant “chez Arsène”, a plus which allows to customers to stay on site to enjoy an excellent table while sleeping there.
Nicolas Onfroy confirms this:
We are rewarded with constantly increasing attendance and very positive feedback. Concerning the hotel which has 19 rooms including 5 family suites, the key word is “quality”. The idea of applying for a 4th star came from our customers who said they were surprised to see us classified as 3 stars.
This is how this local couple, whose Nicolas family has lived here for five generations, was awarded this additional star after the mysterious visit of the decision-makers.
The “Le Grand Hard” hotel stands out by being the only hotel-restaurant 4 stars on the east coast of Cotentin.
A relaxation area
In order to welcome local customers, therelaxation area with his sauna and theaccess to massages by reservation is open to all every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Utah Beach estate of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont is also its beehive or its vegetable garden, its wheat which comes from his own farm. The flour production allows him to offer his sourdough bread.
A winter break
The restaurant “Chez Arsène” is open seven days a week in the evenings, as well as on Sunday lunchtime brunch options. It is open every lunchtime by reservation for groups of at least ten people.
Please note: the restaurant and the hotel are a winter break from November 24just after the “Les Egaluantes” festival of which the estate is a partner.
During this period, reception can still be reached by email. Reopening is planned on March 2025 for groups and early April for individuals.
