Ten parliamentarians, including the Manche deputies Anna Pic (PS), Philippe Gosselin (Republican Right), Stéphane Travert and Bertrand Sorre (Together for the Republic) and senator Sébastien Fagnen (PS) launched, this Monday, October 28, 2024, a transpartisan coalition in favor of the tidal sector.

For them, it is a question of reminding the Prime Minister of the State's commitments in terms of support for the tidal sector and of demanding the release of the €65 million in subsidies promised in 2023 (as part of the 2030 program) for the Raz Blanchard pilot farm. These elected officials will also table a joint amendment along these lines to the finance bill for 2025.

Industrialists are ready to unveil their project Flowatt, carried by the companies Hydroquest and Qair. It relies on seven tidal turbines manufactured at the CMN in Cherbourg. These underwater “power plants” have a power of 17.5 megawatts. In 2023, their implementation was scheduled for 2026, for operation for around twenty years.
