In a leaflet distributed to 1,800 employees of South Channel hospitals (Avranches, Granville and Villedieu) and given this week to elected officials in the sector, the CGT wants “to warn of the seriousness of the extremely degraded financial situation facing our establishments”.
According to a memo, the union reports a deficit of 10 million euros for the year 2023, and “a projected deficit of 17 million euros for 2024. But the most serious is our social and tax debt which will amount to 33 million euros at the end of the year”, believes the CGT.
“Close financial supervision” of the ARS
A situation mentioned in September 2024 by Gilles Ménard, mayor of Granville and president of the hospital supervisory board. Which alerted on the financial situation of South Channel hospitals “which total a cumulative deficit of 30 million euros and a social debt to the State of 83 million euros by 2030”.
