The vital prognosis of an 8-year-old child who fell from the 4th floor of his building on Sunday morning in Villefontaine, in Isère, was still in question this Sunday evening. The Vienne (Isère) public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into attempted homicide of a minor under 15 years old. The child's older brother, aged 26, was in police custody, said prosecutor Olivier Rabot, who confirmed information from Dauphiné Libéré.
A psychiatric examination was requested against the accused. The Dauphiné Libéré specifies that his arrest was eventful since the boy rebelled against the gendarmes and bit one before being subdued. The mother who was present in the apartment was taken care of by emergency services in a state of shock.
The events occurred on Sunday around 9 a.m. in Villefontaine, a town on the border of Isère and the Rhône, west of Bourgoin-Jallieu. The child was in cardiorespiratory arrest when emergency services arrived. Resuscitated, he was transported to the intensive care unit of the woman-mother-child hospital in Bron (Rhône). The investigation was entrusted to the Bourgoin Research Brigade.
