Rail traffic partially resumed this morning on the line between Chavornay and Yverdon-les-Bains after clearing and repair work on the flooded tracks.

One track is now operational, allowing regional trains to run normally. However, IC5 mainline trains are still replaced by buses until at least 2 p.m.

This Thursday, a flood of the Ruisseau des Combes interrupted the railway line for approximately 400 meters between Ependes and Chavornay. CFF crews worked through the night to clear debris and drain water, making one track usable. Work continues to rehabilitate the second track.

Regional trains have resumed on schedule, but delays are possible due to reduced speed traffic on the flooded section and the use of only one track.

The IC5 between Yverdon-les-Bains and Lausanne/Morges therefore remain suspended, with direct buses replacing them. Travelers between Geneva/Lausanne and German-speaking Switzerland are invited to take trains via Friborg and Bern.
