Barthélémy Dias, the dynamic mayor of Dakarwas elected Vice-President Secretary General of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) during the 44th AIMF Congress which was held from May 22 to 24, 2024. This congress, which brought together mayors and representatives of French-speaking cities from around the world, was the scene of crucial discussions on the cooperation and urban development.

This election marks important recognition for Barthélémy Dias, who is already an influential figure on the international scene. Indeed, Dias also occupies the functions of vice-president of the Global Fund for Cities Development (Fmdv) and president of Métropolisa global organization of major cities and metropolitan areas.
