A boater was badly burned by the explosion of the fuel tank of his boat this Friday, right in the heart of Aigues-Mortesin the Gard. It was moored in the Rhône à Sète canal which crosses this town in the Petite Camargue.
The tragedy occurred at 5 p.m., rue du Port, near the Quai des Croisières, this Friday, October 18, 2024, according to the Sdis 30which specifies that the victim was rescued in serious condition by eleven firefighters dispatched with five vehicles and a medical team.
This is a 28-year-old man who was medically treated on site due to the condition of his burns on various parts of the body, then transported in absolute emergency to the burn center at Lapeyronie hospital, in University of Montpellier by the Hérault Civil Security helicopter, the Dragon 34.
THE gendarmes of the Vauvert company opened an investigation to determine under what circumstances the boat’s fuel tank exploded.
