Reduction of noise, pollution and even accidents. On its website, Paris town hall publishes figures for the week of September 30 to October 4. According to this report, noise has decreased by 2.6 decibels compared to the same period last year.

Same thing for air pollution with a decrease in the concentration of nitrogen dioxide and fine particles. However, the average daytime speed remains unchanged at 37.3 km/h. The night speed decreased with an average of 55.1 a few weeks after the increase to 50 on the entire circular boulevard.

To arrive at these figures, the City of Paris draws up a summary of the figures collected by Airparif, Bruitparif and the Parisian Mobility Observatory of the City of Paris. In a press release, the municipality announces that this report will be updated every week.

The town hall explains publishing it “for the sake of transparency and measuring the impact of its policy.” In its press release, the City of Paris estimates that 550,000 people live near the ring road. The increase to 50 km/h has been effective since October 1.
