The Eure prefecture brings together professionals to accelerate the upgrading of establishments open to the public

On the occasion of World Accessibility Day, the Secretary General of the Eure prefecture, sub-prefect of Évreux and disability representative, organized a round table to raise awareness of the Territorial Accessibility Fund which aims to accelerate the completion of work to make stores, hotels, bars, restaurants, medical and paramedical offices as well as banks accessible.

This round table, organized at the Portes de Normandie Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), brought together representatives of mayors’ associations, communities, consular chambers (CCI27 and CMA27), business federations (UMIH27) and associations of people with disabilities.

The Territorial Accessibility Fund, intended for private establishments open to the public in the 5th category (stores, hotels, bars, restaurants, medical and paramedical offices and banks) is allocated 300 million euros over 5 years. It makes it possible to finance the work to bring it up to standard up to 50% of the project, for a maximum amount of €20,000. Establishments can also benefit from €500 in aid to carry out a diagnosis to define the necessary work.

Illustrated by testimonials from users and businesses, this round table made it possible to present the support offered by the State, supplemented by that implemented by the consular chambers as well as several concrete cases of accessible developments, beneficial to all users.

On the occasion of World Accessibility Day, an awareness campaign among all the establishments concerned will be carried out jointly by the State, the consular chambers and the professional federations in order to promote the mobilization of the Territorial Fund accessibility.
