Rabat – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Association of Women Business Leaders of Morocco (AFEM) signed, Tuesday in Rabat, a partnership agreement relating to the establishment of a program for the strengthening of female entrepreneurship in the national industrial sector, entitled “She Industrial”.

Initialed by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour and the President of AFEM, Leila Doukali, this agreement is part of the implementation of the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at support the empowerment of women and promote female employment and leadership and also aligns with the objectives of the new development model which aims to achieve a female activity rate of 45% in 2035.

Intended to encourage women to create their own businesses in different industrial sectors by offering them comprehensive and tailored support to bring their investment projects to fruition, this program is structured around several forms of support to unleash women’s entrepreneurial potential.

On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour emphasized the importance of the involvement of women for the socio-economic development of Morocco, noting that with more than 43% of women work in the industrial sector and 9% of Between them occupying positions of responsibility, this remains insufficient.

The “She Industrial” program aims to strengthen this contribution by offering tailored support to more than 2,200 women in less than two years, thus promoting their active inclusion in industrial entrepreneurship, noted Mr. Mezzour.

And added that ultimately, this program should increase the presence of women at the head of Moroccan companies, thus contributing to the diversity and competitiveness of the national economy.

For her part, Ms. Doukali indicated that this program aims to promote a sustainable and inclusive economy, by circumventing the known obstacles linked to female entrepreneurship.

The president also presented AFEM’s new strategy and 2024-2026 roadmap, focused on growth, value creation, leadership, regional development, innovation and talent development.

Under this partnership agreement, AFEM is committed to facilitating access to financing for women entrepreneurs through financial mentoring programs and to strengthening their entrepreneurial skills through targeted training.

AFEM will also support networking and inter-company cooperation through business meetings and promotional events and will develop a specific certification program.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is committed, for its part, to technically and financially supporting the program by accompanying AFEM in its implementation, by providing its expertise, technical support and resources to achieve the objectives. fixed.

It will contribute to the training, supervision and orientation processes of the program and will support the women beneficiaries to access the industrial project bank.
