This young champion from Verdun has had an exceptional journey. Her name is Pauline Varnerot and she is 17 years old. According to information from L’Est Républicain, this young athlete caused a sensation in the European Powerlifting Championships in Plzeñ, Czech Republic, in early October.

After having already distinguished itself at French and World Bench Press Championshipsshe picks up the second place (totaling 361.5 kg) in the subjuniors -52 kg category, behind her compatriot Cassandre Olivier.

A good start

The Meuse athlete began the competition by establishing a new world record in squatlifting 139 kg. An impressive performance, erasing his previous record of 135 kg, set a few months earlier in Amsterdam.

With these remarkable results, Pauline Varnerot confirms her status as a hope of the French athletic force.
