The mother of the family was to be buried three days after her death and her body had been placed in “a holding tank” to remove the water present in the vault, remembers one of her daughters, 12 years old at the time, interviewed by the local newspaper. It was his father who subsequently made the concrete formwork above the coffin. The latter, also deceased, cannot be questioned by the family. But “he would never have removed the body from the coffin to leave it in a tarpaulin in the ground…”, she assures.
An investigation has been opened
Especially since in France, “a body cannot be buried without being placed in a coffin,” she recalls, wondering if the body found in the tarpaulin is indeed that of her mother.
