Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. FabLab/FabTrain at Paul-Froment college this Wednesday

Meet this Wednesday, October 16 at 2 p.m. at Collège Paul Froment, it’s free and open to all, for ages 11-30, (if minor, mandatory presence of a parent) to participate in the Fab /Lab.

The FabLab? A contraction of “Fabrication Laboratory”, a FabLab designates an open place, making available to the public (in this case middle school students), a range of tools, particularly digital, in order to design objects.

The FabTrain? : This is a workshop in an “escape-game” format, to discover careers and training in industry and creation.

Invented by Californians, FabLabs are developing all over the world; these digital workshops allow anyone to test their idea and create their prototype.

It is a completely new conception of production methods.

The company Scop “NAT” (Nouvelle-Aquitaine en Train), managed to obtain the rights to reopen the -Périgueux railway line. The local agency, named FabTrain, was commissioned by this company to rethink and imagine the interior and exterior layout of these trains. However, the prototyping machines no longer respond… Participants will have to find the origin of the problems: why are the machines not responding? Through puzzles, they explore the different solutions to allow the agency to manufacture the models in time for the presentation of the concepts at SCOP “NAT”.

The objectives are as follows: discover and become familiar with the environment of a prototyping workshop: machines, production, vocabulary, but also discover professional worlds: industrial creativity (design, modeling), industry (maintenance, manufacturing), resources human resources (recruitment) but also work as a team to resolve project issues.

By registration only: 05 53 01 47 98 or directly at the BIJ (located 7 avenue René Bouchon).
