Pink trout fillets recalled throughout France

Have you recently bought trout in your supermarket? Attention ! Since Monday, the health authorities have been carrying out a massive recall of “4 kg pink trout fillets” sold throughout between Tuesday October 8 and Thursday October 10, indicates Rappel Conso. The reason? These pieces of fish are likely to be contaminated with salmonella, the agent responsible for salmonellosis.

Unmarked trout

In detail, these “salmon trout fillets” belong to lot 18057 BL. Their health mark is 27.003.001. The government website notes that these products were sold without a brand.

Customers likely to have purchased these trout are asked not to consume them, otherwise they risk exposing themselves to “sudden onset gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting), which may be accompanied by “fever and headache that usually occur six to seventy-two hours after consumption.”

Consult a doctor

Reminder Conso advises people who present such symptoms after eating these fillets to consult their doctor as quickly as possible, reporting this consumption. The authorities also specify that “these symptoms may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly.”

If no symptoms occur within seven days of consumption, there is no cause for concern. The government website finally reminds that cooking “at +65°C allows these bacteria to be destroyed and the consequences of such contamination to be prevented”.
