The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to 25. Every end of the day, find the daily column from our special correspondent.

Previous column:

The Cannes Film Festival is twofold. Its various official and parallel sections, from the competition crowned with a Palme d’Or to the more discreet ACID, are only the tip of the iceberg. On the lower floors of the Palais des Festivals, the Film Market screens more films, and attracts more professionals (around 14,000), fewer stars and the glamor of the red carpet. Some 4,000 projects completed or in development are at the heart of discussions and negotiations between producers, sellers and buyers, for a business volume estimated to be around a billion euros.
