The partnership between Morocco and Brazil is distinguished by deep synergy, promising significant prospects for improvement. Furthermore, Morocco’s transparency regarding the Sahara issue has encouraged Brazil to adopt a clear official position on this subject, affirmed Rodrigo Pacheco, president of the federal senate of the Federative Republic of Brazil, during a press conference held this Monday, October 14 following his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita.
« Morocco is a large, very important partner for Brazil. We have many challenges in common“, declared Pachero, who indicated that the economic aspect is of particular importance.
The President of the Brazilian Senate did not fail to mention that Brazil faces climate challenges similar to those of Morocco, stressing that the two countries have the common responsibility to confront them. “ With this in mind, I contacted the authorities here in Morocco and invited them to reflect together on environmental issues, particularly in view of the Climate Conference which will be held next year in the Amazon region, in Brazil“, he added.
For Pacheco, the potential for intensifying relations between Morocco and Brazil far exceeds their current state. He stressed that Brazil, as a major food producer, finds in its partnership with Morocco a strategic importance for the acquisition of fertilizers. “ We also aspire to increase our exports of Brazilian products to Morocco. I am aware that our diplomatic authorities are working diligently in this regard“, declared the President of the Senate.
Addressing the Sahara issue, Pacheco underlined Morocco’s serenity in the face of this issue, which led Brazil to adopt a clear official position.
In addition, he mentioned the possibility of a direct flight between Casablanca and São Paulo as early as December this year, believing that this could greatly promote integration between the two nations. “ I hope that young Brazilians can come and explore Morocco, while young Moroccans can discover Brazil, in order to exchange experiences that will contribute to the well-being and evolution of our two peoples.“, he said.
Thus, Pacheco described this visit as fruitful, stressing that it is part of a dynamic of strengthening relations between the two countries through various areas, and welcoming the positive results obtained.
