This Sunday, October 13, 2024 marked the great return of the Leopards in the Coupe de , a historic French football competition mixing professionals and amateurs. To honor this entry into the running, David Carré’s players traveled to Stade Blériot, the home of the Amicale Laïque Déville Maromme (Regional 2 club). A team which had caused a sensation in the previous round by eliminating US Granville, resident of National 2. By winning two goals to one, all while having played more than thirty minutes at 10 against 11, the Devillois saw the challenge rise up a notch with the reception of QRM this afternoon.

A completely new eleven was put in place on the Leopards side, with the presence at kick-off of: Patron, Tré, Diallo, Dede Lhomme, Owusu, Capron-Litique, Tshipamba, Bouekou, Adekalom, Dali-Amar and Fortuné. On the bench, Cissé, Vandenbossche, Pirringuel, Kassy and Bonnevie took their places.

From the first minutes of this match, the spectators at Stade Blériot understood that they would witness a great show. Indeed, it was the locals who had the first clear action of the game, in the 5th minute of the game. Action which, thanks to Patron, was not completed. The offensive phases of play followed one another for David Carré’s men, without penalizing their opponents of the day, due to a lack of accuracy. It was not until the 35th minute of the first half that QRM took the lead thanks to Adekalom, who deflected a cross from Tshipamba. The two teams therefore returned to the locker rooms with a score of 0-1.

At the start of the second period, we clearly felt that AL Déville Maromme was determined, keen to play their chances bravely. Numerous faults from one side and the other forced the central referee to whistle regularly, the game was very choppy in sequences. It was finally Isaac Tshipamba, already the author of the decisive pass in the first half, who allowed the Leopards to make the break, on a cross from Fortuné (65′ 0-2). David Carré will subsequently make three changes, to launch Vandenbossche, Kassy Ghoy and Pirringuel on the green rectangle. Lenny who, incidentally, played his first minutes in an official match under our colors. The score will not change until the final whistle. A big congratulations to AL Déville Maromme for their journey!

This is how this second week of October ends for the Leopards, who will now calmly prepare for the reception of AS Lorraine (J9) next week. They will then play their eighth National FFF match, they who are currently 14th in the ranking, only two points from 8th place.

Remember to take your seats for the match against AS Nancy-Lorraine ????
