Lhe figures are staggering and almost make it possible to avoid long speeches. In 2024, Tadej Pogacar has equaled two records: that of Alessandro Petacchi, winner 25 times in the same season in 2005 but using his only quality, sprinting. The comparison is not even useful with the “La Spezia bomb” who was the first to recognize this evidence on the airwaves of RAI where he is an (excellent) consultant.
It is already, in addition to his Giro-Tour double, his world title, the 7e Monument to his career with abysmal gaps at the finish. The Slovenian has won nine of the eleven events he started in 2024, with sixteen victories accumulated in the stage races. 24 of his 25 victories were won in WorldTour events.
