It is with the greatest joy that Jonathan Garnier has returned since September to Hi Hello, at the helm of the cooking segment, presented Mondays at 10:15 a.m. “This return to television was without stress or complications. I had the opportunity to work for several years at Hello Hello Weekendwith Ève-Marie Lortie. So I was already used to working with her. In addition, since the cooking segment was moved later in the morning, this year, I no longer have to get up as early as before.”

Meet people’s needs

With his unique recipes, tips and advice, Jonathan’s primary objective is to meet the needs of viewers. “I want to respond to a necessity, with inspiration and accessibility. My approach is very humble. HAS Hi Hellowe don’t want to do pretentious cooking. Instead, I want to present easy and tasty recipes that will make people want to prepare them during the week. I also receive, to my great pleasure, many comments from the public concerning my recipes, on social networks. This way I feel like I’m making a small difference in people’s lives.”

A great family success

Aside from his television appearances, Jonathan works with his brother, Benjamin. Both are at the head of The Culinary Guild, which they founded in 2008. “My brother takes care of everything related to the management of the business. I like to say that he is the boss and I am the boss. Our activities are divided into three parts. First of all, we have our online store, which includes nearly 8,000 kitchen products and accessories. In addition, we offer courses, open to the general public, with experienced chefs, as well as corporate activities, such as culinary competitions and Christmas parties. It all takes up a lot of my time.”

Single father

On a personal level, Jonathan tells us that he has been separated for several months from his ex-partner, Joëlle Gendron, with whom he had shared his life for several years. Remember that the latter, with whom he got engaged a year ago, is the mother of his son, Tom, born in August 2021. “To experience this upheaval on the family level, in addition to all my projects, has been difficult. In the last few months, I had to find other accommodation and organize shared custody with my ex-partner. I really take my role as a father seriously and I spend quality time with Tom.

The young boy, who is three years old, already shows an interest in cooking. “He has a little cook of his own, both at his mother’s and mine. He enjoys playing chef. He already knows several ingredients. We regularly make pancakes together, and he really likes to be involved in preparing dinner,” concludes the proud dad, who is adapting to his new reality.

Products in his name at Maxi

Since October 10, Jonathan Garnier has lent his name to a new range of nearly 40 new products, available in 170 Maxi grocery stores. It includes, among other things, a meat lasagna, a gourmet creamy ham puff pastry, chicken meatballs, a decadent chocolate caramel log, and ready-to-eat items. “We are talking here about different products which are found in frozen foods, fresh foods, family meals and individual dishes. The goal behind all these products, cooked just like at home, is to simplify people’s lives. For my part, I am very happy with this wonderful association with Maxi!”
