Un symbolic gesture. The first tree in the new “Parcs en Scène” district was planted on September 27 in the Orlysienne part of the program. Symbolic because this project, winner of the first edition of the architecture and town planning competition “Inventons la Métropole du Grand ” in 2017, will transform an industrial wasteland of 14 hectares (the Sénia Zone), straddling the two municipalities of and Orly, in a district “ green and sustainable “. This project, led by Linkcity and CDC Habitat with Bouygues Immobilier and Sogeprom, and in partnership with the cities of Orly and Thiais, aims to create a mixed neighborhood with housing, residences for students and the elderly, offices, shops, green spaces and public and private services and facilities (schools, nursery, medical center, etc.). It will also host the “Digital Stage”, a metropolitan facility dedicated to e-sport and digital cultures.

The first sods were given in the second half of 2023. And the work will continue until 2030, with first deliveries planned for 2026. For the moment, five lots of this program which will total 260,000 m² of floor space (135,000 m² in Thiais, 125,000 m² in Orly), are currently being built in Orly. Ultimately, “ the project will offer 2,600 quality housing units, home ownership housing, as well as social and intermediate rental housing mainly managed by CDC Habitat built with low-carbon and biosourced materials, in the heart of green spaces », explains Anne-Sophie Grave, the president of the board of directors of the CDC Habitat group. A project (one of the first labeled “BiodiverCity Ready”) which “ places renaturation and mixed uses at the heart of its design », she adds.

The de-artificialization of the soils carried out there will restore 5.6 hectares of natural surfaces out of the 13 hectares initially artificialized, or 45% of green spaces compared to 5% previously. “ Green spaces, parks and gardens will help to strengthen social ties in the heart of the neighborhood, but they will also play a key role in promoting biodiversity and combating heat islands. », underlines Laurent Mourey, the general director of Linkcity. The approximately 8 hectares of outdoor spaces in the district (parks, gardens, squares, streets and pedestrian alleys) will also promote the management of rainwater by infiltration. This environmental design is found in buildings built with low-carbon concrete, wood, biosourced or reused materials, etc.

And this neighborhood low carbon urban planning » has another weighty argument. Located in the immediate vicinity of the new Pont de Rungis Thiais-Orly Grand Paris Express station, it will be 12 minutes from Paris and 2 minutes from Orly airport via metro line 14.
