The teenager was at “serious risk” because of her “extreme vulnerability”.

Invented after the Second World War, the term “wolf children” or “wild children” refers to minors forced for one reason or another to live on the margins of society for a long period of their lives.

It is one of these rare cases that the Spanish authorities in the Malaga region (Andalusia) were confronted recently, reports the Sur newspaper.

On March 18, the attention of local police officers in Coin was drawn to a very dirty vehicle with a flat tire parked in the parking lot of a shopping center in the city. Inside the vehicle several people appear to be “living”, including a very disheveled man and a bald girl wearing dirty clothes.

The police decide to carry out an identity check.

After registering their name in their database, they receive an alert from the SIRENE office (“supplementary information request at national entry”), whose mission is “technical cooperation and operational” between the countries of the Schengen area.

“Total disconnection”

The European body warns them that the minor is wanted in a member country and that she is in a situation of serious danger.

This alert issued by the Swiss authorities asks the country that finds the teenager to adopt the necessary precautionary measures and keep her in a safe place due to a high risk of running away.

The Swiss police report underlines that the father of this child, suffering from psychological disorders and notoriously known for being opposed to all institutions, is considered to be “a danger for her”. With her two sisters, the minor was raised in Switzerland by their father in a forest, in “total disconnection” of society and away from any administration or “public entity”. Until the latter fled with his daughters. According to Swiss services, their mother has not seen her children for six years.

Also, without medical follow-up, the teenager, although 17 years old, presents the intellectual capacity of a very young girl.

She was able to be repatriated to Switzerland on May 3 and placed under the protection of the country’s social services. Her two sisters, already adults, could not be taken away against their will.
