The two free grocery stores have already helped 2,720 households

The Grand Council votes to lower taxes in Geneva

This is the largest tax cut voted in Geneva since, probably, that of 1999. Taking up a right-wing project, which proposed a reduction in income tax of 7.6% on average, the Council of State – in view of the phenomenal accounts for 2023 – suggests increase to 8.7% on average. The Entente and the right defend this measure as a means of redistribution, while the left protests. The final decision will be made by the people in a referendum.
