The FSF will create a new Senegalese Sports Arbitration Court (TASS)

During the Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) which was held on Wednesday, major decisions were taken. At the center of these decisions is the creation of the Senegalese Court of Arbitration for Sport (TASS), an innovative initiative that aims to strengthen integrity and transparency in national sport.

This decision results from a specific mandate given to the president of the FSF, Augustin Senghor, during the previous Executive Committee. Responsible for finding appropriate legal solutions to meet the challenges encountered, President Senghor proposed the creation of the Senegalese Court of Arbitration for Sport. In addition to this decision, the FSF has also established other commissions such as the Discipline and Appeals Commission, the Ethics Commission and the Club Control Commission. According to Seydou Sané, vice-president of the FSF in charge of communications, the Senegalese Court of Arbitration for Sport represents a major step forward in the evolution of the legal framework of national football. He explains that TASS will allow any disputes to be resolved locally before resorting to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

At the level of the judicial bodies, we all talked about it and since the previous executive committee, we discussed it and we gave the president a mandate to make proposals to us. Thus, we retained the discipline and appeals commission, and these commissions, it must be said that each proposed member was contacted and retained. So the disciplinary and appeals commission, the ethics commission, the club control commission, and especially the Senegal football arbitration court. This court will allow us, whenever necessary, after having exhausted all remedies, to refer the matter to the local court, as we do with the arbitration court in Switzerland. All this will take place at the level of Senegal, thus making it possible to resolve certain problems locally before possibly bringing them before the sports arbitration court at the international level.explained Seydou Sané.
