Unfavorable factor
Mother’s Day weekend will neither be completely ruined nor very beautiful. The weather scenario looks set to be rather complex with a bit of everything on the menu. An atmospheric trough and a cold air mass aloft should create a convection phenomenon and instability. At the start of the day, the sun could appear. However, the clouds are likely to take over quickly. Scattered showers are expected especially on Saturday. Rainfall amounts would not be significant in general, but could be more significant in places due to the very slow movement of showers.
Unstable weekend
The key word to remember this weekend: instability. The sun would not be completely absent. In fact, a few hours of sunshine are possible in most regions of Quebec. In the east of the province, Saturday should be fairly clear. The forecast indicates a 30% to 40% chance of showers for both days.
A variable party
Mother’s Day comes early in May. The weather has been rather good in recent years, particularly in 2022 and 2023. Moreover, the sunshine conditions will not be the best for the 2024 edition, but the mercury should be comfortable with maximums close to normal. The mercury is expected to exceed the threshold of 15°C in southern Quebec on Saturday and Sunday.
