Aveyron: the restoration of this church was selected by the Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation has unveiled the first 100 buildings which will benefit from the national collection in favor of the religious heritage of the villages of France.

Located throughout the territory, these 100 buildings are representative of different historical religions and require work, often urgently. 61% of these buildings are not protected as Historic Monuments, 55% are closed to the public or in danger, and almost 50% are located in municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants.

The Heritage Foundation announces that the funding requirement to save these buildings is 15 million euros.

To date, more than 12,000 donors have already contributed more than 2.3 million euros to the collection, an unprecedented success for a thematic operation without previously identified beneficiaries.

In Aveyron, only the church of La Capelle Saint-Martin in the town of Luc-la-Primaube was selected by the Heritage Foundation.

A subscription agreement in favor of the redevelopment of this church was signed on September 16, 2023.

Tax-reducible donations can be made by individuals and companies on the FdP website at this direct address: www.fondation-

The rehabilitation work on this religious heritage which has spanned nine centuries at the end of 2023 has been entrusted to the Vermorel company: maintenance of the building, transformation of the interior to give it a new vocation.

This Cistercian barn-church was in fact weakened by water infiltration and rising damp, particularly in its nave and on its facades. Furthermore, all of the stained glass windows will be restored due to the dilapidation of certain elements and missing parts.
