The Carsoel bridge metamorphosis project until 2025: rail traffic passing through Uccle severely disrupted for two years

But the work takes time and, after heavy disruptions last year until May, the railway difficulties continue. From October 14 and until June 15, new restrictions will be deplored. “Due to this work, Infrabel is establishing a single-track service during the week on the part of the line between Arcades, Saint-Job and Halle. This implies that only one of the two tracks is available, therefore fewer trains run between Brussels-Luxembourg and Nivelles and between Brussels-Luxembourg and Hal/Enghien“, indicates the SNCB. “The train offer is reduced to one S train (S19) per hour between Brussels-Luxembourg and Nivelles and to one S train (S5) per hour between Brussels-Luxembourg and Hal/Enghien. Usual journey times are also extended.”

More precisely: line S5 (Hal-Schuman-Mechelen) will make an additional stop at Arcades but will not stop at Haren. Line S7 will not run between Halle and Brussels-Luxembourg but is extended to Mechelen. The S9 line does not run between Nivelles and Brussels-Luxembourg.

It is between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., at peak rush hour, that the crowds are likely to be greatest, according to the railway company. Please note, “train traffic will be interrupted between Brussels-Luxembourg, Saint-Job and Halle” these October 19-20, November 9-11, November 30 and December 1, January 11-12 and 18-19. Same on March 1-2, April 20-21, May 10-11, May 30 and June 1 as well as June 14-15.
